Somalia: Mogadishu Airport Authorities Stop Young Somalis From Departing
Mogadishu — The immigration and naturalization department of the transitional federal government of Somalia on Tuesday stopped at least 20 Somali young people from departing from Mogadishu international airport.
Abdullahi Gafow Mohamoud, the director of the immigration and naturalization department told Shabelle Radio that youngsters who were on their way to Berbara coastal town in Somaliland, had been suspected.
Mr. Mohamoud said that they did so because they wanted to know which destination they would travel to. Investigations are underway right now, he added.
The director noted they had been suspected of planning to get into perilous voyage to reach abroad.
Their parents will be called to ask if they would know about the travel of their sons and daughters, he concluded.
