MOGADISHU, Somalia, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- An ex-employee who had been fired from Doctors Without Borders fatally shot an agency project manager and wounded another in Somalia Thursday, witnesses said.
The gunman, a Somali man who had been deputy head of logistics with the international relief agency, opened fire Thursday afternoon at a Doctors Without Borders-Belgium building in Mogadishu, witnesses said.
Shabelle Media Network reported the gunman, who had also held two foreigners, was captured by national security forces of the transitional government of Somalia and jailed.
The man who was fatally shot was a French citizen, the wounded man, an Indonesian doctor, sources told the network.
The motive for the shootings remained unclear, Shabelle said.
A witness said the gunman had shot the two victims and for a time held two foreigners who worked for Doctors Without Borders.
