Somaliland: Administration Comments Of Governor Ramaax's Sacking
Hargeisa- The deputy minister of Information, and former presidential spokesperson, Abdillahi Mohamded Dahir "Cukuse" has addressed the issue of the sacking of former Sahil governor Mohamed Ali Saleeban "Ramaax" and the re-appointment of Ahmed Abdillahi "Hamarji" as the new governor of Marodi Jeh.
Deputy-minister Cukuse appeared to be at a loss to explain the firing of former Governor Ramaax, who was sacked in the middle of the night, for refusing to cooperate with an administration attempt to appoint as deputy mayor of Berbera, a new councillor from the president's community.
According to deputy minister, Cukuse, "former Governor Ramaax had refused a direct order from the deputy minister of Security, and was fired due to insubordination"
With regard to newly appointed Governor Hamarji of Marodi Jeh, deputy minister Cukuse stated the following "Hamarji was arrested, accused of corruption, tried and convicted, and subsequently won his appeal and was pardoned by the president. So, he gets his job back".
