Closing arguments under way in Minn. terror trial By AMY FORLITI Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A federal prosecutor is telling jurors that

two Minnesota women accused of funneling money to a terror group in
Somalia knew it was illegal to send cash to al-Shabab but conspired
to do it anyway.

A defense attorney says at least one of the women was giving
money before the U.S. declared al-Shabab a terror group.

Closing arguments are being given Monday in the trial of
35-year-old Amina Farah Ali and 64-year-old Hawo Mohamed Hassan.
Both women face one count of conspiracy to provide material
support to a foreign terrorist organization. Ali faces 12 counts of
providing support and Hassan faces two counts of lying to the FBI.

The women, who are U.S. citizens of Somali descent, say they
were collecting money and clothing for refugees.
