Reer Awdal/Selel and Gabiley Codkaaga Sii Kulmiye, Xisbiga Isbadalka, U Codaynta Rayaale Waxay Lamid Tahay Isbadil La'aan – Give your vote to Kulmiye because voting for Rayaale means voting  for the same  thing forever

Introduction: What you have seen in Kulmiye's election rally in Borama and other Somaliland cities was democracy in action. Clearly the democratic values seem to be yielding dividends in Somaliland. They are already have taken s root. The roots of the democratic tree grown 20 years ago appear to be firm and strong on the ground.

The Borama election rally speaks to that democratic tree blossoming and sending branches to all directions. The rally showed a huge political evolution and political maturity exercised by the people of Somaliland. It will become a great lesson for the gritty Horn of Africa. Hundreds of thousands of people exercising the power of their vote is a great triumph for Somaliland, the Horn of Africa and beyond. What had happened through out Somaliland in the 4th of June, 2010 will become a great educational opportunity, for the Horn of Africa, the Middle East and Africa. This is an indigenous hybrid democracy that started from the bottom up. This is an amalgam of traditional democratic values cloned with the universal democracy. What it is not is a pure western democracy imposed from the top down. The world will learn this miraculous system from Somaliland in the future.  Nations in conflict, in transition from conflict or going through post conflict stage will learn a lot from here.

Tens of thousands of enthusiastic men, women and children turned out to support the Kulmiye party. The unprecedented show of force has frightened Rayaale and his coterie. Yesterday, 4th of June 2010 was a day when throngs after throngs of people started marching to the independence garden chanting with nationalist songs, voicing support for Kulmiye and calling for change. The people of Borama yesterday show their overwhelming support to Kulmiye. The orderliness, the peacefulness and the respect for the law Kulmiye supporters conducted  the election rally has to be highlighted and commended. If Mr. Rayaale should have heeded the many voices who called for his resignation, he would have avoided to loose the coming election by an overwhelming margin. He used so many different tactics to delay the election. He frustrated the aspiring people of Somaliland who are struggling to have their place under the sun. Rayaale keeps on  dragging the election for nearly three years. Finally the people of Somaliland and some of the international community forced him to hold the elections.  Finally he has no choice but to hold an election he has no stomach for. Yesterday's Kulmiye show of force in Borama, Hargeisa, Berbera, Burao and Las Anod and many other large Somaliland cities is a clear prelude of what will happen in the election day of June, 2010.  What was more interesting than that is  when a Borama born female vocalist started  singing in the famous "Maanta Maanta" song. Kulmiye supporters it is not summer yet until the election day, let us keep the hard work and defeat Rayaale and company in June 26 through the ballot box. He is a man who really rewarded the people who voted for him and put him in the presidency with unnecessary antics, election date postponement, heavy-handedness and thanklessness. Today the ball is in the hands of the card-carrying Somaliland voters, who need to exercise that voting right and sent Mr. Rayaale to retirement.  We have fought for this great opportunity and privilege for fifty years and thousands have died for it. What we have today came with a huge price tag.
