Felix Airways Launches First Flight to Djibouti

Felix Airways marked its first flight to Djibouti on Sunday, April 26. This was the first regional flight to Djibouti after the company launched its first regional flight to Salalah, Oman two weeks ago and its first regional flight to Sharjah, UAE last Wednesday.

Felix Airways was established as a joint venture between Yemenia Airways and the Islamic Foundation for Developing the Private Sector affiliated with the Saudi Islamic Bank for Development at the beginning of 2008.

Felix Airways started operating fifteen daily flights in September 2008 from Sana'a and Aden: 5 daily flights between Sana'a-Aden, 4 flights between Sana'a-Riyan, daily flights between Sana'a-Taiz, Hodiedah, Seioun, Alghaydah, Socotra, and a daily flight between Aden-Riyan.

By 2010, Felix will have thirty five round-trip, daily flights on its internal flight schedule between Aden-Sana'a (nine times daily), Riyan-Sana'a (three times), Sana'a-Taiz (three times daily), Aden-Riyan (two times daily), Riyan-Socotra, Seiyuon-Sana'a, Aden-Hodeidah, Hodeidah-Riyan, Riyan-Taiz, al-Ghaydah-Riyan and Aden-al-Ghaydah.

Felix Airways operates today with continuously growing assets. In fact, the company's capital stands at 80 million dollars.

The entire fleet of Felix Airways was purchased from the third largest airplane manufacturer worldwide, the Canadian company Bombardier. The fleet consists of eight Bombardier CRJ 700 aircraft, to be delivered between September 2008 and June 2009. Felix is currently operating with four out of their eight total planes.
