The Islamic movement in Elwak Somalia, where was suspected it might be held two Italian nuns vowed to fight against Kenyan soldiers if they cross the border, officials said.
Hassan Jibril, member of the Islamic administration in the border town of Elwak talked about the steps carrying out Kenyan military in order to rescue two Italian nuns, those were Monday kidnapped from Elwak Kenya to Somali territory, said “The allegations are untrue and we will not tolerate Kenyan soldiers entering where we rule”.
He pledged the Kenyan authorities to respect the Somali’s own independent.
Jibril said “The deployment of Kenyan Soldiers with the border, caused displacement in Elwak Somalia, and that’s what we can’t endure”.
Kenyan authorities didn’t comment about this warning from the Islamists.
Islamic movements in Somalia had been accusing Kenya of supporting Somali’s Transitional Federal Government (TFG), which the Islamists are trying to overthrow it.
It was Monday while unknown gunmen kidnapped two Italian nuns from Elwak Kenya, and Kenya government is trying to survive the abducted nuns, as it had deployed more troops in the border with Somalia.
A Somaliweyn reporter on the ground says, the inhabitants in the small town of Elwak started to evacuate as they fear possible clashes between the Islamists and Kenyan soldiers those were deployed the border of the two countries.
Kenyan government said Monday that Islamist movement was to blame for the abduction of the two Italian nuns and three vehicles from Kenyan border town. But ICU rebuffed the allegations.
