Somaliland:Proposed National Consultative dialogue Conference Postponed

The Executive Director of the Academy for peace and Development Honorable Mohamed Farah has announced the postponement of the proposed national Consultative dialogue conference which was due to commence yesterday 10/2/2014.

Speaking to Somalilandpress.com reporter the APD Director Honorable Mohamed Farah confirmed that the proposed national Consultative dialogue conference has been indefinitely postponed until further notice on the request of the three political parties.

Unconfirmed sources said, unnamed officials belonging to the three political party namely WADDANI had submitted a request for the postponement of national Consultative dialogue conference due to the current parliamentary impasse.

Consultative dialogue will provide the three national political parties with the opportunity to undertake discussion on a wide range of fundamental issues, including elections, foreign policy, economic development, and the Constitution of Somaliland.

The parties had previously agreed also that the dialogue should be hosted and facilitated by the Academy for Peace and Development (APD) in collaboration Somaliland Non-state Actors Forum (SONSAF).
