Calif men plead not guilty to helping terror group

 San Diego, CA (AP) --

Two of three San Diego men accused of routing money to a Somalia-based terrorist group have pleaded not guilty.

The three men are among at least six people accused in the scheme, with other charges coming in Minnesota and Missouri.

Federal investigators say the men coordinated fundraising efforts and money transfers to al-Shabab in 2007 and 2008. The U.S. government says al-Shabab has ties to al-Qaida.

Mohamed Mohamed Mohamud and Issa Doreh entered their pleas Wednesday in San Diego. They are charged with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, conspiracy to kill in a foreign country and conspiracy to launder monetary instruments.

Moalin also is accused of providing a house in Somalia for al-Shabab fighters.
