Congratulation letter from British Somalilanders Diaspora Organisations to the New President of Somaliland and his Cabinet

We would like to congratulate Somaliland's new persident his Excellency Mr Ahmed Mohamoud Mohamed and and the vice president his Excellency Mr Abdirahman Saylici for their victory in Somaliland's historical Presidential election. We would like to show our appreciation to the people of Somaliland for their remarkable achievement in conducting the election peacefully and successfully. This election has proved to the outside world that Somaliland has worked hard against all odds to vote for change, economic prosperity and peaceful democracy.

Somaliland's successful election would not have been possible without Somaliland's National Electorate Commission, the Somaliland Army Forces and the support of Somaliland Friends. Once again, Somalilanders created hope in this turbulent region and showed the world that people can live in peace and prosperity in the Horn of Africa.

Mr President, we all know that the citizens of the richest continent in the world (Africa) live in extreme poverty, and are devastated by civil unrests. Africa's vision for leadership has been crippled for decades by authoritarian governments who have no respect for the rule of law, human rights and democratic rights of their people. Our nation on the other hand has chosen the spirit of democracy where extremism and tribalism have no place. Where father, daughter, son, husband and wife support different political parties, where women and men are united to build this beautiful nation.

We hope your new government will reform Somaliland's independent judiciary which is the most important pillar of Somaliland's democracy that will protect the freedom of speech and humanrights of all the citizens of Somaliland. Independent judiciary will also safeguard Somaliland's economic transparency and accountability that will enable Somaliland become a role model for many African nations and third world countries. Somaliland must prove to the outside world that they are serious about transparency so that Somaliland can attract outside investors to boost Somaliland's economy. This is must for Somaliland's strategic and economic development in the Horn.

There are many challenges ahead of your new government including job creation for the youth as Somaliland is now producing many bright Somalilander African graduates. Somaliland's graduates will play a bigger role towars Somaliland's economic recognition. Somaliland legally does not need re-recognition from any country and illegal political boycot imposed by the International community on Somaliland will fail and Somaliland's dream for rejoining International Community as a peaceful, prosperous and democratic nation will prevail.

Somalilanders have voted for change and their expectations are higher than before. With strong leadership, honesty and integrity we are confident that your new government will face those challenges head on. We the Somaliland Diaspora are here to assist your new government with support towards prosperity and good governance to enable Somaliland become a beacon of economic success in the Horn of Africa.

Your new government has already created promising cabinet members that we believe will deliver the change that Somaliland needs.

God Bless Somaliland.
