Subject: BigC on "Gaza: the "new war"" Don't you see the historical relevance of other histories when you seek to make the Israelis uniquely evil and call them "Nazis" and having a "Nazi-like" ideology when no one else is called that here?No-one has attempted to make the Israelis uniquely evil. No-one is calling them Nazis or saying that they have a "Nazi-like" ideology. Comparisons have been made but that is not the same thing. The same comparisons could be made for Israel's long time ally, apartheid South Africa.

The vast majority of white South Africans were not Nazis as the vast majority of Israelis are not. And others are criticised within the forums of Open Democracy (try searching for BJP in the OD search box) Your "right of conquest" comparisons are outrageous - especially as the Palestinians did not start any war. That happened when half a million foreigners invaded their country and proceeded to claim sovereign rights over it.The Israelis have been there too long to remove them and no-one advocates doing so (and please don't repeat your mindless mantra about the Hamas charter - it has long been superseded by events and is totally irrelevant). But it is time for them to accept the democratic will of ALL the people's of Palestine. Sooner or later, like their erstwhile South African allies, they will be forced to do so. You are discourteous in that you pose "simple questions" and demand that they are answered yet you refuse to answer the questions put to you.

Why won't you answer the questions put to you by Michael and myself Ethan? I don't expect an answer to that question either! No matter. I agree with Michael that enough of the two sides of the argument have been aired here for anyone with the patience and fortitude to plough through it all to make up their own mind.
