The Garoua-based side faced an uphill task against the five-time champions, who held a 2-0 lead from the first leg two weeks ago.
In the 37th minute Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan fired Al-Ahly ahead 1-0 at Roumde-Adjo Stadium, that was packed with 8000 spectators. Abdoul Karim Lassina made it 1-1 in the 45th, and Baba Ousmaila scored a second for the Cameroon team the 63rd. But Al-Ahly captain Shady Mohamed equalized from the penalty spot with two minutes to go.
