Let freedom ring and vote out Rayaale!
Stop Rayaale's dictatorship before he plunged the nation into a full-fledged war.
If not stopped now, he will lead this peaceful nation into a cataclysmic wars.

"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall -- think of it, always." Mahtama Ghandhi
" Watching Rayaale's activities, I wonder how come a fair and free elections can happen in the specter of his reign of terror, intimidation, illegal acts and the use of all government machinery including the police and the military for personal purposes. He created an atmosphere of suspicion, illegal activies, abuse of power, aggrandizement of public funds, dictatorial tendencies and unaccountability."
I vehemently condemn the reckless police killing of innocent civilians in Borama. These people were there just to exercise their right of registering to vote. The two house of parliament must intervene to reign on this increasingly out of control dictator.Clearly Rayaale did not want any voting to happen. I also condemn with the strongest terms of what is happening in the borders between the districts of Bakki/Lughaya-Gabiley and Hargeisa. The disenfranchisement of the people of those districts continues with Rayaale's blessing.
Moreover, the terrorists who took the election equipment from an Awdal election post must be dealt with immediately. Justice must be served to redress this barbaric act. These acts are part of of Rayaale design to stay in office.
I also express my utmost displeasure with the on going shady registration around the country. This kind of a drive true registration is a joke and may eventually help Rayaale. I strongly believe this type of Registration tactics blended with Rayaale's voter intimidation and suppression is a travesty of democracy. I wonder how Rayaale's partisan cronies in Borama and else where will be trusted to stay neutral. By closely watching the gang-style registration tactics, I don't know how come the coming municipal and presidential elections will be fair and free.
Rayaale's agenda is very simple and clear, disrupt Kulmiye the largest opposition party in Awdal and the nation to campaign in Awdal. The only route for Rayaale to stay in power is to stir up violence and war. Rayaale knows quite well that he well never carry Awdal, Salal and Gabiley through legitimate means. what we were seeing the last month is a testimony to that tactics. There fore, he resorted to illegal and dangerous acts. What this dictator is doing is unacceptable and we must not silently witness it.
Speak up and speak out now! This peaceful nation must not be fooled by this Robert Mugabe in the Horn of Africa get away with the criminal acts he is engaged in to stay in power.
The people peaceful Awdal has every right to defend their land from the armed attackers from Gabiley. They are very peaceful people, who respect the common good, but they have a long history of standing up for their rights. I wonder how come a fair and free elcetions can happen in the specter of Rayaale's reign of terror, intimidation, illegal acts and the use of all government machinery including the police and the military.
The armed attack on the Awdal election post was a flagrant violation of the "1993" peace agreement between all Somaliland clans and tribes. We also make Rayaale accountable of the disenfranchisement of the people of several Lughaya and Bakki districts. Lets me also tell these radicals from Gabiley that Gabiley is a diverse region which is the home land of several communities. They must remove their mind form the notion, that they are the only ones inhabiting Gabiley.Gabiley is a diverse community which belongs to several different groups.
Gabiley must be a place that belongs to all the communities who inhabit the area. Radicals pushing sectarian and the policies of exclusion must be defeated. All the communities in Gabiley must equally share power and the area pie. Apparently Rayaale has energized some Gabiley radicals to turn back the clock and brought the bad memories of the past. Gabiley is stronger when all communities are working together harmoniously. Inclusion of all Gabiley communities is the way forward. If you want to see what can exclusion and intolerance does to communities, look around and you will see the result.
Kulmiye party, and other opposition leaders, all the people of good will and peace-loving people, must come out and condemn in the most strongest terms Rayaale's outrageous, illegal acts in Borama, and the borders between Lugahaya, Bakki, Gabiley and Hargeisa.
The infamous and unelected governor of Awdal has a strong hand in all Rayaale's illegal acts. It is time for this long reigning unelected and unaccountable viceroy of Awdal to be voted out of power.
We can not afford to let this dictator and his cohorts to rule a day more than April, 2009.
I would personally urge the two houses to depose him before the afore-mentioned extension period expires, If they think his despotic polices are leading the country into violence and war. He reached in a very dangerous threshold where he is using the police and the army in order to illegally stay in power and further his personal agenda. I am urging the nation not to let this fully developed dictator to further destroy the fabric of the society. The shooting death of a young innocent by Rayaale police women on 10/24/08 in Borama is another example of his excesses and dictatorial tendencies. This is a dangerous development and might not be the last.
The first question of day is, can the nation affords to let this man destroy the good will between the different sects of the society?
The tension between Gabiley and Borama, communities within Gabiley itself and between different subclans in Awdal and other Somaliland regions is also very high. The polarization he sowed in Awdal has reached a very dangerous level also. The shocking incident where by armed terrorists stole election equipment is another escalation, which is a well-orchestrated Rayaale strategy to disrupt, thwart and overwhelm Kulmiye, the largest opposition group in Awdal and the whole nation. It is crystal clear now that this man will never let a clean and a legitimate election to take place. He will try every trick and skill in his security training play book to steal the election. Opposing Rayaale is not tribal or clannish. It is the right thing to do in order to stop a vicious and relentless dictator. This unrepentant dictator is marching on to do his damage and not budging at all.
For the last several years Rayaale's dictatorship went through a fundamental metamorphosis. He started with a mild dictatorship, then gradually transformed into a moderate dictatorship and eventually metamorphosed into a full-fledged one. He began with small dictatorial acts such as of jailing of journalists, and other opposition figures here and there. These days he go it alone with major issues without the consent, knowledge or the agreement of the parliament. Lately Rayaale became bolder and executing his dictatorial acts at will, high level intensity and confidence. His mantra goes along the lines of shoot now and ask question later.
Recently he used the Borama police to block the vice-presidential candidate to come out to welcome him. He deployed heavily armed police at the entrance of the city. A short while after that he used force again to stop prominent opposition figures to rally their supporters and campaign. He created fake regions which have been illegally carved from other regions without debate, discussion, and referendum. The shocking incident where by armed terrorists have taken Awdal's registration equipment at gun point is is a case in point. Not yet confirmed but this may came from the newly formed region of Gabiley.
The man has skewed a honest discussion of the issues to take place.
"The armed attack on an Awdal election post is a dangerous escalation and serious breach of the cease fire and the cessation of hostilities between the Somaliland communities formulated in Sheik and Borma. These terrorists who resorted to an armed attack in a peaceful nation must be condemned squarely by every body. Silence about this kind of a mindless, unwarranted and unnecessary act of terrorism is not an option." Both this act and the police shooting at election registration precinct at an opposition stronghold did not happen by accident. These acts and the others I list above are well-orchestrated and well-coordinated illegal acts designed to delay the election so that Rayaale will indefinitely stay in power." Kulmiye and other opposition leaders and people of good will must speak out against Rayaales illegal antics.
The second question of the day is, can we afford to let this dictator plunge the country into chaos and violence?
On paper and in general Gabiley is a beautiful and diverse community. But in the mean time, there are dangerous tribal radicals in the region. This is a very delegate and fragile flash point where a huge amount of work is needed to be done. These radicals have been causing problems for years when the rest of Somaliland was busy.
The third question of the day is can we let a partisan dictator to run us down a cliff? I would like to leave the answer to the people of good will of this country.
