 Parliament Dismisses Speaker of Parliament Sharif Hassan

Mogadishu — The transitional Somali parliament who held meeting in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Tuesday have formally dismissed the speaker of the parliament Sharif Hassan Sheik Aden, just hours after 280 MPs appointed acting chairman to one of the lawmakers to continue the sessions of the lawmakers.

The MPs continued accusations against the speaker of the Somali parliament Sharif Hassan who they said he refused to open the meeting of the parliament and response the charges against him.

Many lawmakers attended today's session read the results of the meeting to the journalists saying that they lastly sacked the speaker of the parliament adding that they would elect new speaker as soon as possible for the coming days.

The lawmakers told to the acting speaker of the parliament Mr. Madobe Nunow that the speaker of the parliament Sharif Hassan refused more proposals submitted to him in the past and also to hold the sessions of the MPs.

Mr. Hassan Sheik Aden did not comment on the accusations so far as most of the lawmakers eager to appoint new speaker of the Somali parliament.

There had been meetings held by the lawmakers in the Somali capital Mogadishu in the past recent days which they were repeatedly saying Mr. Hassan violated more articles of the constitution indicating he will not represent the mps.

It is unclear who would be elected as the speaker of the Somali parliament as the dismissal of Sharif Hassan Sheik Aden comes as he with a delegation supposed to depart to Italy to get an invitation reportedly offered to the Italian government.
