Somalia: Govt Calls for Al Shabaab Fighters to Lay Dawn Arms

Mogadishu — The commander of Somali army on Sunday called for the young fighters of Al shabaab group to lay down their arms and join to the transitional federal government.

After trips to some of Somalia regions, Abdulkadir Sheikh Ali Dini, Somali army chief said in press conference held in Mogadishu that the Somali youngsters fighting alongside Al shabaab to stop violence and take peace by taking part in the rebuilding their country.

Dini stated what is wanted is that young Somalis should be misled by a group claiming to be a religious one.

He said they must understand the unity and reconciliation of Somalia which are the spine of the nation.

The Somali army chief said the transitional federal government is having cooperation at side of the security with regional administrations of Somalia such as Puntland, Galmudug, Ahlu Sunna, And Himan & Heb to strengthen and assure the overall tranquilty and peace in this war decimated country.
