DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) - Two men pled guilty Wednesday in DeKalb County Superior Court to four counts of false statement for their role in a scheme to issue fraudulent drivers licenses.
Investigators say four Somali nationals paid Guled Mohamed $500.00 to assist them in obtaining driver licenses, which they were unable to qualify for legally.
Mohamed then conspired with Ladeidra Johnson, who is a former license examiner with the Georgia Department of Driver Services, who processed the licenses for the individuals absent the required written or driving tests.
Reports say Johnson processed a fraudulent license for Mohamed in 2005.
Judge Courtney Johnson sentenced Mohamed to three years in prison to run concurrently with a separate sentence he is currently serving in federal prison.
Johnson was sentenced to five years probation, 200 hours community service and a fine of $1,000.00.
