Rayale capitulates under barrage of public pressure

HARGEISA, Somaliland (Somaliland Globe)- In response to growing domestic and international pressure, president Rayale sent a letter today to the two leaders of the opposition political parties, agreeing to discuss with them about his ?ill-advised? decision to hold the forthcoming presidential election without voter registration list.
The Somaliland Globe has learnt that the contents of the letter was very brief and only mentioned that the president was eager to discuss with the two leaders of the two main parties about ?the current political situation of the country?. No further details were included in the letter.
The two opposition leaders, Ahmed Silanyo of KULMIYE and Faisal Ali Warabe of UCID and their newly formed crisis committee will have an urgent meeting this afternoon to discuss this new development.
