JEDDAH: Police in Jeddah arrested a gang of 10 Asian men in relation to a spate of store robberies in the city. Police had been on the lookout for the gang for some time. According to a police source, the robbers were careful in selecting targets and cautious not to accept new members to ensure people did not find out about them. "Gang members would monitor their targets for days prior to robbing them," said the police source. "The gang would work at night and divide tasks between them. Some of them would break locks and rob the stores while others would act as lookouts. They would park their minibus in front of the stores they are robbing to block people's view and to easily transport stolen goods to the minibus," he added. Police quickly organized a task force to track down the suspects and were able to arrest some people who were able to provide details on the group. The gang has been arrested and police are continuing their investigations. |
