Reconciling the past
Nyerere meets Amin
In a historic meeting, the sons of two of Africa's late leaders come face to face for the first time.
Tanzania's Julius Nyerere and Uganda's Idi Amin were rulers who both left a profound impact on their respective countries. They were also avowed enemies, and their quarrels climaxed in the 1979 war between the two countries.
This Thursday will be 30 years to the day when Nyerere ousted Amin from power, and in a special moment, Outlook will be interviewing the sons of the two leaders who will meet on that day for the first time.
Outlook is featuring this meeting on Thursday 9 April

The Secret Scientists
The ideas kept on coming
Europe might have been in the 'dark ages' between the 9th and 13th centuries but that didn't mean the world was bereft of scientific discovery during that period.
At that time in the arabic and persian world, there was a wealth of discovery and scientific exploration, but much of it remains unknown and the scientists are hardly household names.
For the BBC, professor and broadcaster Jim Al-Khalili reveals some of the most influential scientists and thinkers of the time, and the legacy of their work.
The Secret Scientists is broadcast on Wednesday 15 April
