By: Yusuf M HasanLONDON (Somalilandsun) - Somaliland shall utilize the London conference on Somalia to emphasis its irrevocable sovereignty as a nation. This was said by the president of Somaliland H.E. Ahmed Mahmoud Silanyo during an address to a large welcoming committee of UK Somalilanders at the Heathrow airport on Monday.

President Silanyo’s reception committee was led by representatives from 10th Downing Street, UK foreign office, augmented by Somaliland’s minister of state for foreign affairs Hon Mohamed Sh Rashid, deputy FM minister Mohamed Yonis, SL envoy to UK as well as a large contingent of British Somalilanders
While thanking the reception committee President Silanyo revealed that he is in London to echo to the world the irrevocable sovereignty of Somaliland.
Said he, “We shall not only use this conference to address the issue of our sovereignty but demand UN membership as well.”
President Silanyo will as promised be availed ample opportunity to address conference participants from over 40 first world, big purse corporations and Horn region stakeholder countries while the strong delegation he is leading is seated apart from Italian Somalia delegates.
This will be the first time for Somaliland to participate in a conference whose entire agenda pertains entirely to issues south Somalia. The large Somaliland delegation pools its membership from legislators, traditional leaders, government, civil society, women, and diaspora etc.
