Somaliland Independence Celebrations Happened Throughout the Globe and Even In The Most Unlikely Places

This may be due to the understanding that there will be no more sale of Saadin, Ceebat (Near Saylac City) and public Real Estate.

Can you imagine an independence celebration that took place in Ukraine, Uganda, Sudan, Riyadh, Jeddah, Qatar, Dubai/Abu Dubai, Nairobi, and Johannesburg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, France, India, Pakistan,  Nashville, Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Toronto, Ottawa, London, and Birmingham Britain, Cardiff, Holland, Belgium, Cairo, Seattle, Washington, Yemen, Kuala Lumpur, Dar-Al-Salaam, Dar-El-Salam, and according to unconfirmed reports the independence festivities happened on the road by adventurous Somalilanders wading through the jungle of East Africa and the forbidding Libyan desert. Looking closely at all these festivities with wonder I came to the conclusion that the celebrations took place any where few Somalilanders reside.

What was interesting to notice is the enthusiasm, the spirit, the energy and love of freedom and country written on the faces of the participants of the celebrations.  One can also easily notice the huge women turn out in those celebrations. Locally inside the motherland the festivities have taken place in every big city, town, village and hamlet. They took place in Lawyaddo in the extreme west to smallest villages of Sanaag lying in the Somaliland-Somali border. If what we have seen today is a witness what can you expect will happen next year on the 20th anniversary of Somaliland re-liberation.
May 18, 2010 was the 19th celebration of Somaliland's second Republic. This day marked the country was re-liberated. The first Republic was liberated by Somaliland's freedom loving people led by three parties, SNL, USP and NUF. The second Republic was primarily liberated by the SNM. In addition to that the second Somaliland Republic was engineered, developed, nurtured and maintained by the overwhelming majority of all Somalilanders.  In that process the joint forces of all Somalilanders have built an unprecedented democratic Republic in the HORN of Africa. In the 19th of anniversary of the country's liberation Somalilanders comprising of men, women, the old, and the young have marched in mass to make shift independent halls all over the world. They were waving Somaliland flags and one can see the happiness, hope and optimism on their faces. They were chanting with synopsis of the 1960 "Walaala Hargeisa independence songs." They were emotionally singing with some of oceans of songs that have flooded and overwhelmed Somalilanders  in 1960. They were recalling and reciting some of the 1960 independence master pieces such as:
1.       ANMAALNO HASHEENA MAANDEEQ
2.       KADABAA DHAHA EE
3.       WAA MAHAD ALEEH MADAXEEN BANAAN
4.       BAL KAALAY CANABAY CALANKA WALACLE
5.       WEELAY WARSAMAA KU WE HESHANAYEE WIILOY HA ISCUNSIIN WARAABAHEE
6.       DHARAARTAAN WAX YEELADII  DHAQ  DHAQNEE CALANKAAN  DHIDBAY SAW MASOODHININAYA
7.       WAA MAHAD ALEE MADAXEEN BANAAN
8.       GABAGII ABDILLAHI SULTAAN  TIMACADDE: SAREEYOW MA'NUSQAAMAW KAANA SIIB KANA SAAR

This year is different and the independence spirit was stronger, more potent, the energy was superfluous, peoples' effervescence  stronger and deeper, the smile was wider, and the enthusiasm was in a higher pitch. Why so? Perhaps due to the approaching election winds and fever. Probably due to the powerful smell of change in the atmosphere. This may be due to the belief that there may not any more postponement of elections. This probably could be due to the general apprehensionthat UDUB's days are numbered. This may be due to the understanding that there will be no more sale of Saadin, Ceebat (Near Saylac City) and public Real Estate.
