A fatal explosion has hit an Iranian military base near capital Tehran, according to local media reports.

There has not been any immediate confirmation of casualties in the blast, which apparently happened in an arms depot belonging to the elite Revolutionary Guards in Bidganeh.
The AFP news agency reports that the force of the blast shattered the windows of homes in the western suburbs of Tehran.
Alireza Jane, an Iranian official responsible for security issues in Tehran's governor's office, told the ISNA student news agency that the blast hit "a military base."
She said the explosion, which was originally reported to have hit a gas distribution station, happened about 12 miles west of Tehran.
A statement on the Revolutionary Guards website said the arms depot belonged tot hem but did not give further details.
There are no details on what may have caused the explosion.
In October 2010, a blast at a Revolutionary Guards ammunition depot in the western city of Khorramabad killed 18 of its members and left dozens injured.
It comes amid tensions between Tehran and the West after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran appeared to have worked on designing a nuclear bomb.
Tehran has repeatedly insisted its nuclear research is peaceful and warned that any military attacks on its nuclear sites would be met with "iron fists".
The US later appeared to rule out any such strike, with Defence Secretary saying a military response would only delay Iran's nuclear programme and lead to "unintended consequences" in the region
